WELCOME TO GRACYWOODS

NORTH AUSTIN'S GREENBELT COMMUNITY

We love our neck of the woods and sure hope y’all will join us this year in making it the best place to live in Texas.
All our activities are initiated and implemented by volunteer participation within the Gracywoods Neighborhood. So, we would like to remind y'all that volunteers are always needed. We do have lots of baby volunteer opportunities for the super busy. If you are interested, just go to our contact page and give us a shout.

Want to come on down and see what we are doing? Visit our calendar to see the dates and a map to our meeting place. Please come as you are. Shoes, shorts, Stetsons or Tony Llamas are totally optional. (well okay, some clothing is required

ABOUT THE CLINIC:

We are upset and disappointed that the TCHD has entered into a land purchase contract, with the unanimous approval of the Travis County Commissioners Courtand without our input, to buy land at 1210 W. Braker Lane or a 50,000 square foot health care clinic designed to treat indigent people.

North Austin desperately needs this clinic! But shouldn't this clinic serve its clients?

We do not feel that we should allow TCHD to spend 18 million dollars  of our tax monies without showing us that they have done their homework.

The old clinic is not really accessible, the proposed location is not really accessible either. Shouldn't they be looking at accessibility and demographics instead of just choosing any vacant plot of land?

Don't the people who will use this clinic have some right to have input into the planning of this facility? Don't the neighborhoods in North Austin (78758/78753) deserve to have input into the planning of this facility ?

We are insisting that TCHD and the City of Austin go back to the drawing board, talk to the people who will be served by this clinic, talk to our community, and then show us a plan that will make this clinic a win for everyone in Austin.

If you want to help our efforts to stop TCHD and the re-zoning,please consider taking one (or more!) of the following steps:

1.Let TCHD know about your concerns on the proposed clinic:
Serena Starkey, MPA
Business Development and Community Affairs
City of Austin
Community Care Services Department
512.972.4106
Serena.Starkey@ci.austin.tx.us

2.Email or write City Council and let them know you do not want the re-zoning in July to happen: http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/council/default.htm

3. Help us get petitions signed
We need residents to sign the petition. We are also looking for volunteer to help us get signatures from the people being serviced by TCHD.

If you have a filled out petition that needs to be picked up or need us to get you one:
email info@gracywoods.org. Petitions can be dropped off at 1907 Rainy Meadows.

4. Join the discussion at the
forum

5. Help us get the word out! Please let your neighbors and friends know about this proposed development and ask them
to get involved.
